Salaries in Luxembourg: these professions which pay very big according to a study

Luxembourg is one of the European countries where salaries are the highest. Cross-border workers from Lorraine who go there confirm this. According to an article from our colleagues at Actu published on November 18, this is the question that the recruitment firm Hays tried to answer. The latter therefore carried out a study on salaries in Luxembourg. This study shows important differences between professions and experience levels. We take stock of all this in this article.

150,000 to 250,000 euros gross salary per year

Among our neighbors, information directors in management are sitting on a pile of gold. So they win between 120,000 and 250,000 euros per year. A partner, compliance officer or risk manager in the legal sector is even richer.

In fact, they can pocket up to 200,000 euros per year. Industrial site directors are not left out, as their salaries range from 150,000 to 250,000 euros. In addition, after 8 years of experience, industrial site managers can earn 180,000 euros per year.

By doing the calculation, we realize that a French psychiatrist wins 75,600 euros gross per year. That’s almost half as much as an industrial site manager in Luxembourg! As a reminder, a director of industrial sites in Luxembourg receives on average 150,000 euros gross per year.

And that’s not all, because according to an INSEE study on private sector salaries in 2022, only 1% of French people earn more than 11,206 euros per month. In Luxembourg, according to the figures we have mentioned, 1% of employees earn around 18,000 euros per month.

A gap that risks growing further in the future?

If the salary gaps between France and Luxembourg are already enormous, they will perhaps increase further. For what ? In Luxembourg, a new salary increase is looming. This is planned for 2024.

Indeed, next year, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Statec) plans toindex the salaries of Luxembourgers to inflation. As a reminder, throughout Europe, inflation is at a high level.
